We had to wake up at 3:00 in the morning on Thursday to get to uni at 4:30, so I went to sleep fairly early, although I wish I went ealier because waking up at the time is not pleasant! Ching and Matt stayed up alllll night playing Smash Bros which made them look like Zombies. We went to uni to meet the rest of our group and had to wait for the coach come at 5:00, but by that time I felt quite awake and excited.

We arrived at the airport at about 7:00 and had to hang about the airport until 10:00 for our flight.

We had some breakfast at the wetherspoons where I broke two plastic forks with my mighty strength whilst stealing other people's breakfast who couldn't hack at eating all of it! I had icecream instead, not the conventional breakfast but I needed something cold!

We finally boarded the plane but I got a stupid seat in the middle row. I wanted the window seat!! I've always had a seat near the window...it was so bizarre not knowing where I was going! Not that I can see much out of the window...maybe I have a mild case of claustrophobia? But I managed to switch seats with a guy who was next to Jackie and then Karen swapped with him so she could sit next to me. I watched the Golden Compass which I must say I was quite disappointed with, it was too quick and they didn't delve into any of the parts so much. It felt like I was watching short clips of the book....I won't go on about it.

We got to JFK in the afternoon on Thursday (time paradox or what! we were in the air for 6 hours!) and it was nothing as I expected! Well I didn't assume that it'll look like what it does in the movies but it was just...urgh...we were underground so it was hot and stuffy and we had to wait in a huuuuuge line to go through customs...I won't bore you with the details.

We got outside and it was hot! It was like steeping into summer! We got into our first yellow cab! Quite a big deal for us and drove to Manhatten, it was the best time I've ever had on any transport! I suppose it was the excitement of being in America. We took some photos of the skyline:

Our hotel happened to be a block away from the Empire State Building, so we literally used the Empire as our landmark to navigate us. The problem we had was that since it takes up an entire block, it looks the same all the way round! So we did get a bit lost...

It doesn't look that tall, but it seriously is!

Our Hotel looked very glamorous but my friend says the foyers always look grand, but our room wasn't too bad. We did have a view of the Empire!

We had a bit of spare time before doing stuff as a group so we had a walk around the area, and bought our citypasses as well as the super cheap metro pass!! ($25 for the whole week travelcard!!). We then went to the Empire State to see the sunset, the annoying thing was that everyone had that idea! So it was crowded as hell up on the balcony. But I managed to take some snaps of the city:

Next we walked to Times Square which was inmmense! It looked like it was day because the lights were soooo bright! I couldn't believe I was there, the place I saw it in all those movies!! And Heroes!!

We finally settled down in Hard Rock Cafe to have dinner...yet it was like 10 at night! And I wasn't all that hungry so I have some fries:

By the end of the day, we were knackered. Only the adrenaline of being in NY finally was the fuel to keep us going. Went back to the hotel an crashed!

Our first day in New York, and we started off with visiting the Guggenheim Museum which was pretty good, I forget the featured artist's name but he specialised in gunpowder art, which was fascinating to watch and look at! We then ventured out into Central park and saw the huge reservoir and the lovely skyline!

And a little later we parked our arses for some hotdogs!

We then headed to the Javitz centre for the first day of Comic Con. And it was massive! We had to marvel at the hugeness before we got down to some shopping!

It came to evening and we headed back to the hotel and then strolled around to find a place to eat. We finally settled down in Wendy's which was actually quite nice, and I took some photos of my friends eating! =P

We all decided after we would get some icecream from the Dunkin' Donuts, at first I was too full to even think about icecream but eventually my stomach settled and I couldn't say no! So we pigged out in our room and talked, like little girls! Matt even more so....=P

More to come...

Just got back from the expo, I went on Saturday and it was mental! So so busy! It was like comic con!

I started off sitting at the sweatdrop tables to draw my entry for the artist alley comp, me and my friend were there for a good hour drawing since we didn't want to lose our seats! Chairs were in demand!! I entered my entry as well as my pre-made entry to sweatdrop and rushed to the toilets! I was bursting!

Whilst we were heading to the toilets, we saw a Dalek, and I had to take a pic of him, aswell as a video (which I shall put up eventually!).

Me and my friend then looked around for a bit, before returning to our base, which was around the SD tables and our friend's stall. Adjacent to the SD table was the actor who played Cat in Red Dwarf (Danny John-Jules) signing photos, which my friend joined the quere for. I then decided to join her because I felt like getting my sis his sig and a photo with him. He was incredibly enthusiastic and such a nice guy.

It was some time before the SD meet so we went looking around again and got caught up watching some trailers for the new "The Mummy", "Hellboy", The Hulk" and "Wanted" films, which all seem pretty tempting...

We went back to the SD to meet everyone! It was great to see some familiar faces, as well as some new ones. We then moved outside because it was such a lovely sunny day! And sat down to chat. After a while we returned back inside and I finally left with my friend because we were knackered!

Oh, then we watched the Eurovision...
